Radiography & Imaging Technology (RIT) sits at the point where almost every diagnosis begins. Before a treatment plan exists, someone has to produce a clear, correctly positioned image — and that person is a radiography technician.
Where RIT graduates work
The two-year RIT pathway opens into several settings:
- Hospital radiology departments
- Standalone diagnostic and imaging centres
- CT and MRI support roles
- Emergency and mobile imaging services
What departments look for
Two things, consistently: positioning accuracy and radiation safety discipline. A technician who positions well produces images that do not need repeating, which protects both the patient and the department's throughput.
Why the demand stays steady
Imaging volume in a city like Mumbai does not shrink. Every orthopaedic case, chest complaint and pre-surgical workup passes through an imaging department, which is why trained RIT staff remain steadily employable.
